About me
Dr. Frank Hinkelmann studied theology at German Theological Seminary in Giessen, Germany (1989–1993), and with an emphasis on church history at the Theological University of Apeldoorn in the Netherlands (2004–2006). In the fall of 2014, he obtained a PhD from the Free University of Amsterdam, writing on the history of the Evangelical Movement in Austria (1945–1998).
Since 1994, Dr. Frank Hinkelmann has been on staff with OM Austria, the Austrian national branch of a global interdenominational mission agency. From 1998 to 2007, Dr. Hinkelmann oversaw the Austrian branch. From 2008 to 2010, he directed OM’s ministry in Central Europe, and from 2011 to 2017, he led the ministry of OM Europe. Since 2018, Dr. Hinkelmann has served as Associate for Board Development with OM International.
Dr. Hinkelmann also served as chair of the Austrian Evangelical Alliance (ÖEA) from 2003 to 2015 and is currently the president of the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA). He also serves as Vice Chair of the International Council of the World Evangelical Alliance. He is the President of Martin Bucer Seminary in Bonn, Germany, and teaches church history at several institutions.
Dr. Frank Hinkelmann lives with his family in Petzenkirchen, Lower Austria. He is an ordained minister of the Protestant Church of Austria.
